Playable parties

The current parties that you can play are:

Conservative Party (open): Centre-right, lead partner in the Coalition Government with 305 seats. Led by David Cameron since 2005 who has tried – with varying degrees of success – to modernise the party from its image as the “nasty party”. Ideologies range from liberal conservatives to libertarians to old-school social conservatives. Generally Eurosceptic.

Labour Party (open and encouraged): Centre-left, in government from 1997 – 2010. Officially a democratic socialist party but a broad church of centre to left wing views. Led by Ed Miliband since 2010 who promised to move the party on from the New Labour years and has taken a more left wing approach – although often not radical enough for all its members or affiliates. Generally pro-EU.

Liberal Democrats (closed): Socially liberal (don’t mention Tim Farron) and centre-left to centre-right. Junior partner in the coalition. Led by Nick Clegg since 2007 who has tried to move the party towards a more “orange book” liberal outlook. Enthusiastically pro-EU.

There's a lot of Tories.

So if you're unsure who you want to play, then we would encourage Labour.

Ta!
