EDM 1: Referendum on the Single Currency

Early Day Motions can be put forth by any MP on any subject or issue. They are, as a rule, not debated and never go to division; they are usually submitted with the signatures of other MPs who are in agreement with the contents and are simply a way for MPs to express their feelings on a particular issue in a short-hand type of way.

EDM 1: Referendum on the Single Currency

Post by Sir Dylan Macmillan »

That this House affirms its commitment to the sovereignty of the British people and calls for the Government to respect that sovereignty by legislating for an in/out referendum on the European Single Currency (Euro) within the lifetime of this Parliament and further commit to abide by the result.

Signed:
Rt Hon Dylan Macmillan, North East Bedfordshire
Rt Hon William Croft, Chipping Barnet
Hon John Baker, New Forest West
