McCRIMMON ASKED TO SERVE AS CHANCELLOR, TRANSPORT SECRETARY
WESTMINSTER - Sir James McCrimmon, MP for Chesham and Amersham, was recently appointed First Secretary of State, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Secretary of State for Transport. In his first public comment after moving into Number 11, McCrimmon said "It is a distinct privilege to be asked to serve my country in such a way. Our long national nightmare of Brexit scenarios is over. Now that we're out of the EU, it is up to the Stanley Government to get this country going again, to invigorate industry, spur society forward, and build up Britain. I am honoured to bring my private sector experience to the public sector as we look to grow and become the ideal country of the 2020s."
