Bibi married Simon Lauria* in 1979, at a ceremony at the Belsize Square Synagogue. He was born in 1953 to middle class German-Jewish parents, who lived in the nearby area. He studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Harvard University between 1972 and 1975.

By 1992, Mr Lauria has become an established and well known antique dealer, operating out of a shop on the Old Kent Road. He is one of the world's leading experts on Mesoamerican sculptures, and frequently visits the region to support archaeological digs organised by Harvard.
